| Steven Brown graduated
from the Potomac Massage Training Institute in August
'98. He is currently setting up the massage program
at Sibley Hospital in the Center for Rehabilitation
Medicine, Washington DC, along with operating his massage
studio.
Steven's experience includes working with the Alvin
Ailey American Dance Company when they were performing
at the Kennedy Center; he also offered post massage
therapy at the Marine Corps Marathon. Steven has successfully
completed workshops in Shiatsu, Reflexology, the Alexander
Technique and Hot Stone Massage treatments.
Steven is certified in Thai Massage. The combination
of stretching, yoga and massage fills a void for many
clients. Thai Massage is a central feature of his practice
and Steven anticipates a growing popularity with the
public.
Steven's Philosophy: Being
a marathoner and avid cyclist has helped me to understand
the stress the body goes through during physical activities.
I use Deep Tissue and Swedish massage techniques as
well as Thai Massage, depending on the client's needs
and wishes. I have worked with marathoners, bikers,
and dancers, and incorporate isolated stretching when
needed in my sessions with clients. I am a firm believer
of balance in one's life. Work and play as well as balance
among mind, body and spirit. |
